Youyu-Pinglu Highway, a key transport infrastructure project in Shanxi province, completed construction and was connected to the province's highway network on Jan 10.
The new highway starts at Gaoqiangkuang village in Youyu county, and runs through six towns, 39 villages and an industrial park, to Pushang village in Pinglu district, Shuozhou city, for a total of 64.4 kilometers.
With an investment of 4.75 billion yuan ($704.16 million), the highway has four two-way lanes with a total width of 26 meters and a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. There are 58 bridges, five tunnels and 218 culverts along the highway.
