Xishui Economic Development Zone, located in the south of Xishui county in Hubei’s Huanggang city, was set up in 1992 and upgraded to a provincial-level development zone in March 2006.
The zone covers 25.26 square kilometers, governing three communities, seven administrative villages and an industrial park.
Xishui Economic Development Zone enjoys convenient transport with major cities in Hubei province with Wuhan, Huangshi, Ezhou and Jiujiang all within 100 km and the capital cities of nearby provinces, including Changsha, Hefei and Nanchang are within 300 km.
The zone has been listed as one of the demonstrations areas for transformation and upgrading in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It focuses on three industries: automobile parts manufacturing, machine manufacturing and healthcare materials production. It is also considering developing pillar industries such as auto parts technology, kiln machinery, pharmaceutical chemicals, machine manufacturing and new building materials.
