Baotou celebrates scientific achievements of 2018

Baotou, the largest city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has revealed its top 10 most impressive scientific achievements of 2018, according to Baotou Daily.

1. Construction of Baotou National Agricultural Science and Technology Park won approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology on Dec 7. It is estimated that the project will need total investment of 5.675 billion yuan ($830 million). By 2025, the leading industry will generate a total production value of 32.5 billion yuan.

2. In August 2018, a science and technology innovation conference was held in the city. The conference emphasized the need to focus on high-quality development, promote major scientific and technological research, and strengthen the construction of intellectual property rights and standards systems.
