Three cooperative agreements were signed between Fuyang district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province and three research institutes in China on Jan 5, in a leap forward for talent cultivation and industrial development in the district.
The partners include the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hangzhou Dianzi University (HDU).
CUFE enjoys competitive advantages in the technological and financial sectors and the landing project will attract more capital and related institutes to settle in the district by focusing on talent cultivation and base construction, scientific research and consulting services, construction of hi-tech parks and industrial development, said Shi Jianping, vice president of CUFE.
Other than that, Fuyang is also partnering with the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the photoelectric material and laser industry.
As a key teaching and research-oriented university with its own distinctive programs in electronic science and technology, engineering and information technology, HDU is teaming up with Fuyang district on a new research institute featuring integrated circuits, wireless communications, intelligent sensing, energy conservation and environmental protection, and the Internet of Things.
"It is a critical period for Fuyang's industrial transformation and upgrading," said a local official, adding that the introduction of the projects and high-caliber talents will inject new impetus to the development of hi-tech industries in the district.
