Jilin province's Changchun Longjia International Airport saw passenger numbers soar to a record high in 2018, according to an annual report detailing its operations for the year, which was released on Jan 4.
Data revealed that in 2018, the airport handled 92,500 flights carrying a total of 12.97 million passengers, marking year-on-year growth of 8.04 percent and 11.2 percent.
The year also saw a total of 36 airlines operate 153 routes out of the airport, linking 74 cities around the world.
Airlines also added new routes from Changchun Longjia, such as to Yiwu in Zhejiang province, Yancheng in Jiangsu province, and Yulin in Shaanxi province.
Discontinued services connecting cities including Xining in Qinghai province, Nha Trang in Vietnam and Jeju Island in South Korea were also resumed in 2018.
