Modern facilities have transformed the way public affairs are handled in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province, with the recent arrival of a new government service center in Xiaoshan district.

The 30,000-square-meter center, equipped with an array of intelligent facilities including facial recognition, voice recognition, intelligent robots and self-service terminals, is a substantial step for Xiaoshan as it seeks to further optimize business environments and provide efficient services for the public with digitized tools.

Composed of four sections, the center provides people with easy access to 1,531 services including business registration, public affairs, investment project approval, social insurance, exit-entry affairs and other matters related to social needs.

The new center is underpinned by smart services and people can get their business done simply by having their faces scanned, according to Shi Qingshan, head of the service center in Xiaoshan district.
