Recently, the revised version of the Guangzhou Medical and Health Facilities Layout Plan (2011-2020) was posted on the Guangzhou Municipal Government website. The plan proposes that in the future, Guangzhou will plan to form a networked medical structure of“one center, one sub center and five divisions”, in which Nansha will become the “one sub center”, building itself into a cluster of international high-end medical service institutions and a healthcare front-runner in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
At present, Nansha has ten general hospitals including Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital, the First People's Hospital of Guangzhou Nansha and the Second People's Hospital of Guangzhou Nansha, one specialized hospital, one traditional Chinese medicine hospital, and two maternal and child healthcare institutions.
In addition to projects such as the First Affiliated (Nansha) Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the Nansha Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Nansha District of Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center, Nansha also plans to build a national health care tourism demonstration base, general hospitals likethecooperative hospital project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and six specialized hospitals including the Affiliated (Nansha) Stomatological Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the Nansha Port Hospital. It will also expand seven general hospitals including Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital and the first People's Hospital of Guangzhou Nansha.
In order to further improve the medical emergency network, the plan proposes to strengthen the standardized construction of city emergency medical command center and five emergency medical command sub-centers respectively in Panyu, Huadu, Nansha, Conghua and Zengcheng district, so as to further improve the emergency command linkage system in Guangzhou.
Guangzhou alsoplans toconstruct afirst aid training base and a medical insurance and emergency materials reserve,paysattention to the construction of air rescue systems and speeds up to build air rescue facilities in conditional areas. In addition, Nansha attaches great importance to the construction of health tourism demonstration bases, and the health tourism industry has been listed as one of the five leading industries in Nansha. A Guangzhou Key Project, the Guangdong Medical Valley Industrial Zone, is also settled in Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District.
