The city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region received nearly 300,000 tourists during the past New Year holiday, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, according to a recent local news release.
The large number of tourists brought the city tourism revenue of 114 million yuan ($16.59 million), a year-on-year increase of 14 percent.
During the past three-day holiday, a wide array of scenic spots in Ordos launched various favorable price policies to woo visitors. A number of activities, such as a skiing competition and a New Year gala, were held, adding festive joy to the holiday.
