Guangdong Haizhuang Wind Power Equipment, formed through cooperation between Zhanjiang and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), set up operations in the Zhanjiang Marine Sci-Tech Innovation Center on Jan 2.
Founded in 2004, CSIC is one of the two largest shipbuilding conglomerates in China, the other being the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). The former handles shipbuilding activities in the north and west of China, while the latter deals with those in the east and south.

On July 3, 2018, the Zhanjiang Science and Technology Bureau and CSIC Haizhuang Wind Power signed an agreement to cooperate on the development of offshore floating wind power technology.
Guangdong Haizhuang Wind Power Equipment will primarily engage in the research and development, manufacturing and sales of wind turbines and offshore floating platforms, as well as the installation and maintenance of wind power equipment.
