The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Association celebrated its first anniversary in Guangzhou on Jan 2, with the ceremony being attended by Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Ouyang Weimin, vice governor of Guangdong.
Cai Guansen, head of the association, addressed the audience at the ceremony. Cai said the association will work toward making investing easier in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and strive to create a top-notch foreign investment environment by connecting the best resources in the Greater Bay Area.
Leung Chun-ying, who also spoke at the event, said economic activities have always been about "learning from each other's strengths and seeking reciprocity". The strengthening of Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation will mainly consist of increasing exchanges and joint development between enterprises in the two places.
Leung encouraged entrepreneurs from the two places to think outside the box and participate in a variety of exchange activities, promote sound development strategies, relevant policies and an inviting business environment in the Greater Bay Area, and explore more cooperation opportunities with foreign investors.
According to Ouyang, the Greater Bay Area has made significant progress in institutional innovation, platform development and major projects. The vice governor encouraged entrepreneurs from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to seize opportunities to spur the development of the Greater Bay Area.
