Guangzhou has issued a new version of its Yangchengtong public transportation card, which can be used in 225 cities across China, according to Guangzhou Yangchengtong Company.
The special card will offer the same ticket discounts as the ordinary card, including a 40 percent discount on public transit tickets after taking the bus or subway 15 times in one month.

Guangzhou Yangchengtong Company also released a self-service recharge device that uses Bluetooth technology. The device will be available in bus stops and local communities starting in 2019 and will make things more convenient for cardholders.
In order to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Yangchengtong Company also unveiled its plans to gradually cooperate with the Hong Kong public transportation industry by launching a mobile phone SIM card with the same functions as the Yangchengtong card for citizens of Hong Kong and Macao.
