With a brand value of 270 billion yuan ($39.1 billion), Kweichou Moutai Co from Southwest China's Guizhou province ranked number one on the 2018 Hurun Most Valuable Chinese Brands list released on Dec 21, becoming the first real economy brand to do so over the past 10 years.
Kweichou Moutai has moved up seven places since last year. It was followed by Taobao with a brand value of 255 billion yuan and Tencent with a brand value of 245 billion yuan.
The Hurun Most Valuable Chinese Brands list evaluates brand value based on economic data and customer investigation results. It is the first of its kind in China.
Kweichou Moutai also ranks 323rd on the 2018 list of the World's 500 Most Influential Brands released by World Brand Lab, a leading advisory institution established in the United States on Dec 18. It has moved up 10 places since last year.
