Jibei Economic Development Zone, located in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, was founded in July 1995 and was approved as a provincial-level development zone in June 2003.
Housing Taiwan Industrial Park, South Korea Industrial Park, Huaqiao (Overseas Chinese) Industrial Park and Electronic Information Industrial Park, the Jibei zone has developed four pillar industries: food and beverages, machinery and equipment, electronic information, and textiles and clothing.
It was chosen in the first batch of demonstration zones in Shandong province for its scientific development, and quality and environmental systems. It won several national honors, such as the being top 100 Chinese industrial parks with strong innovation capability, one of the industrial parks with the most investment value, the best investment park for the food industry, the industrial park with the most investment value for Taiwan-funded enterprises in China, as well as the most popular industrial park among Taiwan businesspeople in Shandong, the best industrial park for investment in Shandong, the first food industrial base in the province, and being among the top 10 industrial parks with the most development potential in Shandong.
It is also a major practitioner of Shandong's development strategy, a back garden, sub-center city and new industrial base for the provincial capital.
