AI research institute exhibits high-tech products in Nansha

On December 18th, the exhibition hall of IFLYTEK South China AI Research Institute was officially launched at the Xiangjiang International Science and Technology Innovation Center in Nansha. It will showcase a number of AI products with top-notch technologies such as speech recognition, image recognition and human-computer interaction. High-tech products unveiled

"I want to book a private room for eight people at 6 pm tomorrow." "There is no room available at 6 o'clock, can it be 7 o'clock?" In the exhibition hall, a telephone robot is talking with a customer with quick and smooth response. It is hard to believe that the other end of the phone is not a real person. This is the intelligent customer service project incubated by IFLYTEK, and also one of the important research directions for IFLYTEKAI Research Institute.

According to reports, IFLYTEK is currently the largest listed company for intelligent speech industry in the Asia-Pacific region and a leading enterprise in China's artificial intelligence industry. In recent years, it has set a number of world records in the fields of speech recognition, speech synthesis and machine language translation. On January 2, its AI Research Institute was listed in Nansha. And two national projects concerning the construction of a National AI Open Platform for Intelligent Speech and a National Key Laboratory for Cognitive Intelligence were also settled in Nansha.

Many high-tech products like the smart conference system, the translating machine which can easily switch between 50 foreign languages, the intelligent robot Alpha egg, and the intelligent TV with voice control were displayed in the hall, which caught great attention.

It is reported that based on excellent AI technology, IFLYTEK has obtained good market feedback in the technical applications of education, medicalcare, intelligent home furnishing, smart city, smart customer service and in other fields.

More AI R&D talents will gather in Nansha

"Located at the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,Nansha is gaining momentum to develop. The leading AI companies and top talent teams will have good prospects here," said Cai Chaolin, government leader.The settlement of IFLYTEK South China AI Research Institute in Nansha is in line with the principle of "right timing, right place, right people". Nansha will do its utmost to support the development of AI industry and provide more scene for AI enterprises on technology application as well as better environment for talents to live and work."

"Our Research Institute mainly researches in smart justice, intelligent customer service, smart medical care, unsupervised learning, and big data. After a year of preparation, all the researches have basically started," said Wei Si, dean of the Research Institute. "There will be more IFLYTEK research talents coming to Nansha. We also hope to build the AI Research Institute into a high-tech development highland and bring more innovative technologies to everyone."

The reporter learned that the Research Institute focuses on basic research, customer service NLP (Natural Language Processing), judicial NLP, lung CT, fundus imaging and big data. It currently has a R&D team with 42 peoples,17%of which have Ph.D degrees and 70% have master degrees.

Nansha billion-dollar AI industry is gathering

It is reported that since its listing last year, the Research Institute has successfully achieved good results in the field of application scenarios such as Nansha medical care and education. This is also an epitome of the rapid development of Nansha's AI industry.

In recent years, Nansha New Area Pilot Free Trade Zone, as a main carrying area for the development of AI in Guangzhou, has achieved remarkable results in developing AI industry by issuing a series of documents to support its development and regarded it as a key support target.

Nansha is currently planning an AI industrial park with an area of about 3,000 mu (about 200 hectares), and has introduced more than 130 AI enterprises. In terms of policies, talents, financing, application demonstration projects and application scenarios openness, Nansha supports the development of AI industry and teams in an all-round way.
