Baogang Hospital has recently launched an air rescue center in cooperation with Kingwing Aviation, according to Baotou Daily.

An air rescue helicopter owned by the aviation firm conducted adaptive flight and first-aid simulation exercises at Baogang Hospital on Dec 6. In addition, a training session was given by technicians of Kingwing Aviation to 28 members of staff at the hospital.

It is the only air rescue center established by the company in Baotou city. Across China, Kingwing Aviation has more than 60 air rescue helicopters and an established air rescue network with more than 300 hospitals and over 120 “120” emergency centers.

The company’s aircraft are larger and better equipped than most medical helicopters used to provide emergency rescue services.

In addition to the pilot, the aircraft can also carry a doctor, a nurse, a lifeguard and a winch operator. It can rescue and transfer two patients at the same time, equipped with facilities like a ventilator, electrocardiogram, defibrillator, aspirator, and oxygen cylinders. Also, it can complete a rescue without landing thanks to the onboard winch.

Baotou has long been committed to developing its aviation industry by encouraging investment and furthering cooperation with aviation companies. The city also boasts relatively predictable weather, which is important for an aviation center.

Several hospitals in Baotou have developed partnerships with Beijing Red Cross 999 Emergency Center and International SOS Pte Ltd, the world's largest medical and travel security services firm, which counts nearly two-thirds of the Fortune Global 500 companies as clients. The launch of the rescue center will better facilitate the city's emergency rescue services and benefit local residents.
