Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Tianjin, situated on the coast of the Bohai Sea, is a city full of charm and vitality. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM), located there, is one of the earliest universities of TCM founded in China. TUTCM is committed to the discovery and collection of traditional Chinese medicine, personnel training and scientific research.

TUTCM has a complete set of specialties and a distinguished teaching faculty. It offers bachelor, masters and PhD programs with a leading comprehensive strength among China's colleges of TCM.

It now has 16 schools, branches and departments, seven affiliated hospitals, one research institute of TCM, five provincial-level medical research centers, two state pharmaceutical clinical research bases, one preparation center and one pharmaceutical factory. In addition, the university has its own academic publications, such as Journal of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine,and Chinese Encephalopathy Magazine.

The university has set six fields of discipline, two of which are within the top 1 percent of ESI's global discipline rankings.

As an external higher education base of TCM authorized by the Ministry of Education and the home of the Educational Instruction Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies, TUTCM has established friendly relations with over 60 countries and had extensive cooperation in education, scientific research and clinics. It has cultivated more than 6,000 doctors of TCM and professionals in Chinese medicine or acupuncture, and welcomes more than 2,000 foreign students of TCM each year.
