According to the Spring Festival Gala's production team, the sub-venue will be set up at China FAW Group Corporation, a Changchun-based automotive manufacturing company.
Commonly referred to as FAW due to its original name "First Automotive Works", the company has been at the forefront of promoting China's automobile industry. It manufactured China's first Jiefang commercial truck in 1956, as well as China's first Dongfeng car and first Hongqi (red flag) luxury sedan in 1958.
Beijing will continue to host the main session this year. Besides Changchun, the other two live broadcasting sub-venues of the Spring Festival Gala are Jinggangshan in Jiangxi province and Shenzhen in Guangdong province.
