More than 60,000 beautiful courtyards have been established in the villages of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, this year, according to local media reports.
The women's federations in Quzhou city, its counties and villages organized 10,000 staff members to help female villagers construct a beautiful courtyard and a vegetable garden on their vacant lands, making them a source of local villagers' income.
Take the Dongtou village in Quzhou's Kecheng district for an example. Dongtou villagers cultivate moss potted landscape at their courtyard, which helps them earn 4,000 ($580) to 5,000 yuan each month
Villagers in the city's 200 villages now work on constructing a beautiful vegetable garden.
