Quancheng Park, in the central part of Jinan city, was opened to the public in 1989 under the name of Jinan Botanic Garden. It was renovated to add entertainment and leisure facilities in 2004 and renamed Quancheng Park in 2006.
The park is home to 208,000 plants in 650 varieties, which won it the titles of "natural oxygen bar" and "national base for popular science education". Its signature building, Triangle Greenhouse, offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy vegetation landscapes under tropical rainforest and desert conditions.
In 2014, the park built an exclusive area for emergencies and disaster-prevention. The newly built public security museum allows visitors to learn about security and disaster-prevention skills in simulated disaster conditions. The park was granted a China Habitat Environment Example Prize by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2016.
