The Confucius Classroom jointly operated by Lingnan Normal University and the Belarusian State University of Physical Education in Minsk, capital of Belarus, was presented the 2018 Advanced Confucius Classroom award at the 13th Confucius Institute Conference in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
Since its inception in January 2016, the classroom has taught more than 1,000 students Chinese and martial arts. Various cultural activities it has hosted have also played an active role in the promotion of Chinese culture.

In addition, the other two Confucius Classrooms, 27 Confucius Institutes and 41 individuals were also honored at the conference.
The conference, known as Davos in the education circle, drew more than 1,500 participants, including university presidents and representatives of Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms from more than 150 countries. They discussed Confucian culture and teaching Chinese abroad.
As of today, 548 Confucius Institutes, 1,193 primary and high school Confucius Classrooms and 5,665 teaching sites have been established in 154 countries and regions. A total of 47,000 full-time and part-time teachers from China and other countries teach 1.86 million in-classroom students from various academic backgrounds. There are also 810,000 registered online students.
