Accessing the archives:
An individual foreigner (overseas Chinese included) is required to present valid personal identification and a Letter of Introduction provided by the pertinent governing institution to use the open archives.
Foreign organizations and individuals need to reserve 30 days in advance to use the un-opened archives, and present an Invitation Letter from the pertinent local invitation organization or local government department of foreign affairs.
