Mianshan Mountain, Jinzhong
(晋中市介休绵山景区 jìn zhōng jiè xiū mián shān jǐng qū)
Mianshan Mountain is the birthplace of a traditional national holiday — the Chinese Qingming/Hanshi Festival. It is located in Jiexiu city in central Shanxi province, 137 kilometers south of Taiyuan and 125 km north of Linfen. The mountain is noted for its natural and cultural scenes, especially for its cultural relics. Visitors can take a five- to seven-day trip to learn about Hanshi (Cold Food) culture, Buddhist culture, Taoist culture, military culture or health preservation culture. Covering an area of 75 square kilometers, the mountain is a national scenic spot with 14 tourist areas and 400 attractions.

Ticket Price: 110 yuan ($15.83) during the peak season (April 1 to Oct 31)
90 yuan during the low season (Nov 1 to March 31)
Free Tickets:
① Children with heights at or below 1.2 meters;
② Active servicemen, disabled revolutionary servicemen, those aged 70 or above, journalists with valid certificate.
Half Price:
For domestic tourists:
① Full-time university bachelor or junior degrees with registered student ID card;
② Disabled persons with disabled certificate;
③ Those aged 60 to 69 with ID card or preferential card;
④ Children with heights from 1.2 to 1.4 meters.
For overseas tourists:
① Full-time students studying in China with registered student ID card;
② Those aged 65 or above with passport.
Extra Fee: 50 yuan for buses at the scenic spot and 5 yuan for insurance

Note:
1. Wear comfortable clothes when climbing the mountains.
2. Hanshi Cultural Festival is held every Qingming Festival (Tomb-sweeping Day) in April and if you are interested in Chinese traditional customs, it's a good time to come for a tour.
