Hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai, Huaian

The Hometown of Premier Zhou Enlai Scenic Area in Huaian is the place where Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People's Republic of China, spent his childhood.
The scenic spot, covering 3.15 square kilometers, includes Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall, Zhou Enlai's former residence, Fuma Alley Historical Street and Hexia Ancient Town.
Zhou Enlai Memorial Hall displays many paintings and calligraphy works in memory of the respected premier.
The former residence was built as a wooden structure with black bricks and gray tiles. It consists of two houses – the East and the West – and has 32 rooms.
Fuma Alley, where Zhou's former residence is located, is an ancient alley more than 300 meters long.
Hexia Ancient Town has a history of over 2,500 years and is the hometown of many historical figures such as Liang Hongyu, a female Chinese general of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), and Wu Cheng'en, a famous Chinese novelist and poet of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
