Hechi agri-products win big at fair

Hechi city inked four sales contracts for 205 tons of farm produce valued at 89.4 million yuan ($13 million) at the opening ceremony of the 15th Guangxi Famous and Special Agricultural Product Trade Fair in Guilin on Dec 7.

Hechi is a major agricultural center in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. It is blessed with a comfortable climate and soil that is ideal for growing things such as orange, pineapple, corn, lotus root, casava, and sugarcane. Natural silk is also one of the city's specialties, along with more than 100 different kinds of rice.

Guangxi Yizhou Hongji Natural Silk Co Ltd showcased its sophisticated silk technology and latest fashion products at the event, attracting a great deal of attention.

Hechi earned 2.7 million yuan in sales during the first day of the five-day event.

The fair gathered nearly 1,000 enterprises, which exhibited various green, organic, and environmentally-friendly agricultural products and had a total display area of over 2.6 hectares at the Guilin International Convention and Exhibition Center. Buyers and sellers were connected through matchmaking events, development forums, market promotions, and other activities.
