Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Founded in 1956 and nationally renowned for its orthopedics specialty, Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a large-scale comprehensive hospital of 3A-Grade (the highest of China's three-tier grading system for public hospitals) committed to delivering state-of-the-art clinical care, innovative scientific research, rigorous medical education, and health care and pension services.

Foshan Hospital of TCM consists of six parts, including the headquarters, Sanshui branch (Sanshui Hospital of TCM), Chancheng National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone Branch, Nanshan branch, Chengnan Outpatient Clinic and a pharmaceutical center. Covering an area of 32,000 square meters, the headquarters have 46 clinical departments, including orthopedics, internal medicine, emergency department, ICU, surgery, gynecology, acupuncture and moxibustion, and nine other medical and technical departments such as TCM, Orthopedics and a trauma institution. There are two national second-level laboratories of TCM and 116 special outpatient clinics of various specialties.

The hospital offers 2,550 beds in total. In 2017, 4.37 million person-times received medical treatment at the hospital's outpatient and emergency departments, 86,000 person-times were discharged from the hospital and more than 51,000 operations were performed.

The famous department of Orthopedics was founded by Professor Li Guanghai, well-known in Guangdong province. It is noted for closed reduction, small splint fixation, internal and external medication and other TCM therapies, which have earned it a good reputation on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and in Southeast Asia. It has been awarded as a "National Key Clinical Specialty." At present, the department has 16 specialties covering trauma, joint, spine, reparation and reconstruction, sports medicine, ankle injury, pediatric orthopedics and TCM orthopedics.

Foshan Hospital of TCM set up a medical alliance in 2017 to cooperate with 32 hospitals of 11 provinces across the country, including Guangdong, Guizhou, and Hubei provinces. The hospitals established a cooperation mechanism to enhance the alliance member's service ability of TCM and provide the patient with high quality, high efficiency, safety, and convenient medical service.
