Dan'gan Island Provincial Macaque Nature Reserve

Macaques live on Dan'gan Island. 

The Macaque Nature Reserve is located on Dan’gan Island, covering 2,270 hectares. The Nature Reserve and Qi’ao mangroves jointly form Zhuhai Qi'ao-Dan'gan Island Provincial Nature Reserve. Dan’gan Island is far from the mainland coastline, with few traces of human presence. Covered with dense forests, the island has abundant flowers and fruits, and is home to 12 species of rare animals and plants under state protection, and 85 kinds of wild animals. Over 1,300 naughty and lovely wild macaques live there. Personnel are specially designated for patrol and management. 

Transport: Bus 11 or 56 to Xiangzhou Port, where high-speed ferries for passenger transport and low-speed ferries with mixed loading of passenger and freight are available.
