In order to promote open economic development in Guizhou and Guangdong provinces, Guiyang customs signed a memorandum of cooperation with Zhanjiang customs on Dec 5.
According to the memorandum, both parties will establish a coordination system to promote the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstrative Initiative on Strategic Connectivity and the reform of customs clearance procedures.
Zhanjiang Port will establish a land port in Guizhou to create transport links with inland regions. Furthermore, Guiyang and Zhanjiang will develop a supervisory assistant system and make use of new technology to improve the supervision of imports and exports.
Guiyang and Zhanjiang will also allow key national labs to cooperate in commodity inspection and quarantine. Law enforcement and case investigation data will be shared to improve investigative efficiency.
The memorandum is expected to further improve the efficiency of customs clearance, make cross-border trade along the route more convenient, and benefit import and export companies in Guizhou.
