Mudanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone
Built in January 2006, the Mudanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone , comprised of three separate development zones, was established in Mudanjiang city, Heilongjiang province, in January 2006 and promoted to State level upon the approval of the State Council in March 2013.
Covering a total area of 100 square kilometers, with a built-up area of 15 square kilometers, the district is divided into one city and two parks, namely Jiangnan new district, the national circular economy industrial park and the Mudanjiang-Russia economic park.
The zone is dominated by the green food industry, the pharmaceutical and biological industry, the high-end equipment manufacturing industry and the trading industry.
The GDP output was 11.96 billion yuan ($1.72 billion) in 2017, up 10.2 percent year-on-year. In addition, the number of projects under construction in the zone reached 130, with a total investment of 59.42 billion yuan. The fixed asset investment in the zone reached 3.11 billion yuan from January to September 2018, up 15.3 percent year-on-year.
