Daqing Economic&Technological Development Area
Construction began on the Daqing Economic&Technological Development Area in 2006. It is located in the northwest of Xicheng district, Daqing, Heilongjiang province over an area of 323 square kilometers. The area has been listed as a key industrial park in the Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar industrial corridor, a provincial incubation base for medium and small-sized enterprises and a key industrial park built jointly by the province and the city. In October 2012, it was upgraded to a State-level economic and technological development zone.
The area focuses on five major industries: petroleum and petrochemical equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, new energy, new materials, modern logistics and high-end services.
By the end of 2012, the total fixed asset investment in Daqing Economic&Technological Development Area reached 21.29 billion yuan ($3.07 billion). In addition, the area achieved a GDP of 9.56 billion yuan in 2012, with an industrial added value of 8.62 billion yuan, a tax revenue of 1.2 billion yuan, and total import and export volume of $580 million.
