Rural e-commerce has become a thriving industry and brought increasing wealth to locals in counties of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region in recent years.
According to Hohhot Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the sales revenue from rural e-commerce in Horinger county, Qingshuihe county, Togtoh county and Wuchuan county totaled 90 million yuan ($13.07 million) during the past 11 months this year.
The city has established an e-commerce service system connecting the counties, towns and villages in the area.
The system includes more than 200 enterprises, helping them sell local agricultural products online.
As of now, five e-commerce service centers at the county level, five logistics warehouses, and nearly 300 service stations have been established in the city.
Horinger county, Qingshuihe county, Togtoh county and Wuchuan county were selected as national demonstrative counties for rural e-commerce successively in recent years.
