Creative designs awarded at Ningbo conference

The 2018 China Creative Design Conference was held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, on Dec 9, to award the nation's best creative designs this year. 

Altogether 10 gold awards, 20 silver awards, six best organization awards and 40 creativity awards were announced at the conference, among other awards. 

The China Good Design Award, initiated in 2015, has selected some of the best creative designs from across China over the past three years, greatly fueling the nation's innovative industrial development. 

A new oil-water separation material developed by the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology & Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences won a silver award. It can separate oil and water quickly and efficiently in oil spill accidents. 

Meanwhile, a multi-functional orange scissor designed by the Ningbo University of Technology took a creativity award. It can support orange picking at different heights and directions with its adjustable length and angle, without hurting the fruits. 

The China Good Design Ningbo Center was also launched at the conference, which will be dedicated to supporting the creative designs of manufacturing companies in Ningbo with resources from the Strategic Alliance of China's Creative Design Industry. 

Hefeng Creative Square, the venue of the conference, is one of the nation's first four demonstration bases of industrial designs, and one of the nation's first innovation demonstration bases for small and micro businesses.
