Inno & Entre Town, one of the most important platforms for technological innovation in Xiasha district of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is gradually turning into a cluster for innovative companies.
Located in the Hangzhou Economic and Technological Development Area, the town introduced over 1,000 innovative enterprises from January to October, more than twice as much as the previous year.
Following the "At Most One Visit" administrative reform, Inno & Entre Town has streamlined administrative procedures for people and business by cutting down on red tape, thus making it easier for newly created startups to register and get their business licenses.
"It is quicker than I expected," said Jiang Li, CEO of a technology company focusing on chip designs in artificial intelligence, adding that it took less than two months for the company to settle in Xiasha.
Since the establishment of an advanced research institute by Imperial College London on Sept 5, another six international research institutes have settled in the town, taking the total number to 16.
The appeal for international institutions and talents can partly be attributed to the global vision of the town.
"The settlement of a growing number of innovative companies indicates the increasing appeal of Xiasha district as a national-level demonstration base for innovative talent training," said a local official.
In the first three quarters of this year, the town achieved 29 billion yuan ($196 million) revenue, a year-on-year increase of more than 30 percent.
