Jingjiang Economic Development Zone was founded in 1992 and upgraded to a national economic development zone in December 2012. It is located in Jingjiang, an emerging port city in Jiangsu province.
The planning area of the economic development zone is 169 square kilometers and it has been divided into four areas: the headquarters, the southern and northern areas and Xinqiao industrial park.
The headquarters has made continuous efforts to build the port and four industrial parks on the health industry, precision manufacturing, and science and education.
The southern area focuses on equipment manufacturing industries such as automobile accessories and engineering machines, while the northern area continues to accelerate the construction of a distinctive town themed on air conditioners.
The key construction projects in Xinqiao industrial park cover equipment manufacturing for environmental protection, nuclear power, special alloys and petrochemicals.
In 2017, the general public budget revenue was 1.5 billion yuan ($216 million). A total of 147 projects, each worth over 100 million yuan, were signed in the year, with industrial sales of 57.12 billion yuan.
