The 2nd China (Ningbo) International Shipping Logistics Fair is to be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province from Dec 10 to 12, to drive the development of the city's shipping logistics industry, according to a press conference held by local authorities on Dec 4.
In addition to a shipping logistics fair, there will also be a port cooperation summit and a matchmaking conference between shipping logistics companies and talents, with over 10,000 representatives from well-known shipping and logistics companies expected to be present, including nearly 200 overseas merchants.
"The fair will play a positive role in driving the transformation and upgrading of the city's shipping logistics industry, and attracting more high-end shipping resources to the city," said Hu Jinli, deputy director of the port and anti-smuggling office of the city government.
The Belt and Road Port Cooperation Summit, to be held on Dec 11, will focus on the global economic trade, shipping service model and smart logistics, to discuss an appropriate way of developing international shipping logistics.
The summit will also witness the signing of 13 projects, as well as the establishment of a Chinese shipping insurance committee and a shipping logistics internship base for exchange students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
As for the matchmaking conference, 500 undergraduates from six local universities and colleges will be invited to discuss with the companies attending the fair.
