Quzhou Committee of Experts in Digital Economy was established on Nov 27, with the aim of gathering renowned digital economy experts at home and abroad to advance the development of digital economy in the city.
Led by Hua Xiansheng, vice-president of the internet giant Alibaba, the newly-built committee consists of 22 members, including one academician from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and three winners of the Changjiang Scholar award, the highest academic award issued to an individual in higher education by China's Ministry of Education.
The experts spoke highly of Quzhou's natural environment, business climate and innovation atmosphere, and were positive about the city's prospects with regards to developing the digital economy.
Hua said that he was glad to see what the Quzhou government had done in relation to developing and managing the city with advanced technologies.
The expert committee will surely contribute to Quzhou's digital economy, making it a model city nationwide, he added.
Quzhou is ramping up efforts to create a city with the best business climate, soundest social management and warmest hospitality, according to Xu Wenguang, secretary of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Party Committee.
Xu hopes all the experts will make full use of their advantages to help the city achieve its goals and boost its industrial digitization.
