BEIJING — China has completed the second national census on the names of places, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
Census workers have collected around 13.22 million names in total and drawn over 24,000 maps accordingly, said a posting on the ministry's website.
Results of the census will be utilized to facilitate social and economic development as well as the improvement of people's life, the ministry said.
The census, which began in July 2014, has taken over four years to complete. It was led by the State Council.
