Hechi People's (Renmin) Hospital became one of only four hospitals in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region designated a Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) on Dec 1.
The National Health & Family Planning Commission issued the title to Hechi at a meeting held in Changsha, capital of Hunan province where this year's progress on stroke prevention and treatment was reviewed.
The certification recognizes Hechi People's Hospital for its ability to provide expert care for the most complex stoke patients.

The hospital, located in Jinchengjaing district, is the only Grade-III Class-A hospital in the city. It began CSC construction last September with multi-disciplinary operations. Emergency, neurology, neurosurgery, intensive care and rehabilitation departments were integrated and provided with catheter interventions, imaging, anesthesiology, and other resources. Three months later, a construction unit was especially set up to facilitate the process.
Thanks in part to cooperation with Hechi's specialist union in the field, more than 100 acute stroke patients have been saved through emergency treatment. Sub-acute and non-acute care was also provided to hundreds of other patients.
The hospital promised to make exceptional efforts to foster better patient outcomes related to stroke care.
