Baotou to add metal resource research institute

Bayan Obo mining district, Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is planning to cooperate with Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology on developing a research institute for multi-metal resource mining, according to a Dec 3 Baotou Daily report.

The research institute will focus on the further development of the Bayan Obo mine and tailings resources to achieve comprehensive utilization of mineral resources and mine solid waste.

So far, construction work on the main body of the project has been completed.
