The Innovation Building in Uqturpan county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, passed the acceptance inspection on Nov 30, marking the completion of the construction aid project by Zhejiang province's Quzhou city.
Located in the county's Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Industry Park, the building covers an area of nearly 14,000 square meters with a total investment of 42 million yuan ($6 million).
The building is expected to bring together SMEs, incubators and companies involved in intelligent and e-commerce industries to explore the digital economy's development in Uqturpan.
In addition, the talent department (third stage), the comprehensive teaching building of Uqturpan No 1 Middle School and Uqturpan Quzhou Elementary School have been put into service this year.
Uqturpan is a State-level poverty-stricken county. In order to help eradicate local poverty through industrial upgrading, Quzhou has launched 50 projects in Uqturpan with a total investment of 454 million yuan over the past two years, including the SMEs Industry Park and fruit processing companies.
These projects have brought in 1.58 billion yuan worth of investment and made the growth rate of local per capita disposable income higher than the national average.
