500kV submarine cable delivered in Ningbo

A 500-kilovolt photoelectric composite submarine cable has recently been delivered in Ningbo, which has the highest voltage of that particular type of cable in the world. 

The cable, stretching 18.15 kilometers, is independently developed and made by Orient Cable, a Ningbo-based cable manufacturer. 

It will be used in the 500-kilovolt power transmission project of Zhoushan, a neighboring city of Ningbo in the Zhejiang province, for communications and electricity transmission between the two cities. 

One of the world's most competitive submarine cable manufacturers, Orient Cable has made many breakthroughs in the submarine cable industry, including an umbilical cable delivered by it in June, which was the first of its kind in China.
