1. China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo
The biennial China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo, first held in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province in 2010, was hosted for its second edition in Jining. The third expo was again held in Jinan, which has been the permanent venue for the fair since then.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Shandong provincial government and the Jinan government, the expo is the largest intangible cultural heritage-themed national-level event in China and is of great significance to the inheritance of national traditional culture.
The expo provides performances of traditional intangible cultural arts, competitions in traditional crafts, interactive experiences of intangible culture and academic forums, which comprehensively demonstrate achievements made in the protection of intangible cultural heritages on a national level in recent years.
2. Art Fair of Jinan
The Art Fair of Jinan, jointly organized by Jinan Daily Newspaper Group and the Jinan bureau of culture, radio, film, television, press and publication, has been held annually since 2013.
The art fair is a platform for exchanges and communication between art dealers and collectors, as well as art collection deals, which can promote the development of the city's cultural industries. The fair has grown into the city's largest and most influential art exhibition, as well as one of its most important cultural projects.
3. Jinan Horticultural Expo
The Jinan Horticultural Expo has been held annually in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province since 2015.
The expo features exhibitions of flowers, plants, artificial plants, garden machines, greenhouse equipment, irrigation systems and other related products, as well as trade fairs and academic forums.
4. Jinan Korea Commodity Expo
The (Jinan) Korea Commodity Expo, launched in 2012, has been one of the important platforms for economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. It also deepens the multilevel and all-round cooperation and exchanges between the Shandong and Korean governments and enterprises.
5. China (Jinan) International Information Technology Expo
The China (Jinan) International Information Technology (IT) Expo, launched in 2002 as a biennial event in Jinan, in East China's Shandong province, has been an annual expo since 2014.
It is the only international and regional IT expo co-organized by China and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and is the largest of its kind in China.
The expo aims to show the public the latest IT products and services, to help IT enterprises expand into domestic and foreign markets, and to promote the application of IT in the fields of smart cities, e-commerce, industry and agriculture, energy sources, transport, logistics and ecological protection.
6. China New Media Development Conference
The China New Media Development Conference, held annually in Jinan, Shandong province, is a high-profile event in the field of new media that started in 2018.
Sponsored by the All-China Journalists Association, the Internet Society of China, the China Communication Research Center of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the Shandong government, the event aims to build a nationwide new media platform to promote the integrated development of traditional and new media.
