Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Lindy Cameron, Director General of Country Programs of the UK Department for International Development (DFID), on Nov 20.
They exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the field of international development.
Cameron introduced the foreign aid mode and fund allocation of the DFID. She said that the UK and China have different characteristics in the field of international development cooperation. The UK is willing to strengthen exchanges with China, with the expectation of learning from each other’s experience to improve the influence and outcomes of foreign aid projects.
Deng introduced the CIDCA and China's foreign aid concepts and practices. He said that China is willing to strengthen communication with the UK to enhance mutual understanding and mutual trust, and explore tripartite cooperation with multilateral institutions on the premise of fully respecting the will of recipient countries.
