An inter-ministerial joint meeting on vocational education of the State Council was approved in a circular released by the State Council on Nov 27.
The circular said that the meeting should implement major policies launched by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on vocational education.
In addition, coordinating national vocational education and solving major problems in vocational education should also be part of its work.
The circular also urged the meeting to review the laws, regulations and major policies on vocational education, and conduct reform and innovation of vocational education.
The meeting should also refer to suggestions from the National Vocational Education Guidance Advisory Committee, and supervise the implementation of related policies and measures for vocational education, the circular said.
The joint meeting, led by the Ministry of Education, is composed of eight other ministries and departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The meeting has one convener, Vice-Premier Sun Chunlan, two deputy conveners, and six members from several ministries.
The office of the meeting is located in the Ministry of Education, and will take on its meeting organization and coordination.
In principle, meetings will be held twice a year, and special meetings can be held as needed.
