Approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government and given official status by the National Development and Reform Commission in June 2002, the zone now has been upgraded to a State-level high-tech industrial development zone. Intent on becoming China’s capital of fluorosilicone, the zone focuses on the development of fluorosilicone new materials, fine chemicals, biochemicals and mechatronics.
It is a characteristic industry base of fluorosilicone new materials under the National Torch Program, a provincial-level silicon industry base, the only development zone with both fluorine and silicon industries in China and a State-level demonstration park for recycling transformation.
