Taoyuan Qili Scenic Area is located in northwest Qili village, 30 kilometers from downtown Quzhou. The scenic area is 245 km east of Zhejiang province’s capital city Hangzhou, 140 km west of Wuyuan county in Jiangxi province, 270 km south of Wuyi Mountain in Fujian province and 300 km north of Huangshan Mountain in Anhui province.
Taoyuan Qili Scenic Area is the largest national 4A-level rural leisure tourist scenic spot in Zhejiang province. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with distinct seasons and is mild and humid all year round. Its average temperature is around 14.3 C. With an average altitude of 650 meters and a population of 5,082, the area covers 60.45 square kilometers, with its forest coverage rate reaching 98 percent.
The scenic area has rich tourism resources: the 1,327-meter-high Daguping Mountain Range, the Eagle Stone, Yanghua Waterfall, Feilaishi Waterfall, Zhiling Stone Forest and the Red Army’s Tomb. A total of 15 peaks are higher than 1,000 m.
The area’s many ancient villages are well preserved, including Yangwu, Shangcun, Junliang and Zhiling.
