Longyou Grottoes

Located at the foot of Phoenix Mountain, 3 kilometers north of Longyou County, Longyou Grottoes is a national AAAA-level scenic spot with 36 caves ranging in size from 1,000 to 3,000 square meters.

The caves are adjacent but not interlinked to each other. They are magnificent, ingenious in design and exquisite in carving. Therefore, they are honored as the "Ninth Wonder of the World" and "the ancient Greek shrine of China".

Since it was discovered, many renowned experts and scholars have flocked to Longyou Grottoes, but they cannot figure out the year the construction was conducted as well as its use, which to this day is considered a mystery.
