Qingyang Culture Village

Qingyang Culture Village in Jiangshan city, Quzhou is known as the ancestral home of Mao Zedong and the hometown of the Mao family. More than 300 households living there bear the surname Mao.

Their ancestors used to live in the Jiangnan area (or the region south of the Yangtze River) before moving to Qingyang. The Mao family in Qingyang has a history of 1,500 years, during which eight shangshu (ministers in ancient China) and more than 80 jinshi (successful candidates in the highest imperial examinations) were born there.

Take the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway (South Section of Huangqu), pass the exit of Jianglang Mountain and Qingyang Village can be reached.
