Fugai (floating cap) Mountain, also known as Wugai (mist cap) Mountain, is the natural dividing line between Zhejiang and Fujian provinces and is about 9 kilometers from Nianbadu town in Zhejiang.

As a primitive land shaped by ancient crustal movements at the junction of Xianxia and Wuyi mountain ranges, Fugai Mountain is an important part of the Jianglang Mountain National Scenic Spot, which covers 14.4 square kilometers and is 1,146 meters above sea level.

The crudely welded tuff in the area presents various grotesque shapes. The granite boulder on top of the main peak resembles a giant cap, which gave the place the name of the Floating Cap Mountain.

Xu Xiake, a noted literati and geographer in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), once traveled here and marveled at the grandeur of the scenery. The landscape was beautifully rendered in his renowned A Travel Journal to Fujian.
