State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid) recently held a completion ceremony for the Kozienice power transmission and transformation station project in Kozienice, Poland.
The 400 kV-220kV-110kV power transmission and transformation station project started on May 9, 2014, and included building an additional room for a 110 kV switching station and rebuilding 18 rooms for a 400 kV switching station after dismantling its nine rooms.
After the completion, the station will be used for a main switching of power transmission from Kozienice power plant, the largest thermal power plant in Europe.
The transmission and transformation station not only can provide half of the power for Warsaw, capital of Poland, but will also be a critical load-center unit substation for the Polish Power Grid Company.
The Kozienice project is the first European power transmission and transformation EPC project undertaken by a Chinese company, and is therefore significant for deepening capacity cooperation with European countries and expanding China's presence in the European power market.
