2. Meiyimei Christ Church
Meiyimei Christ Church, built in 1900 by American missionaries, is a typical example of gothic architecture covering an area of 400 square meters.
To blend in with the local architectural style, the church's walls were inlaid with cobblestones from rivers of Mount Tai. Besides, there is also a locust tree with an age of more than 200 years old in the courtyard of the church, which witnessed the establishment and development of the church.
The church is a representative of the eastward spread of Western learnings in Tai'an in modern times. After the establishment of the church, Cuiying Middle School, Boji Hospital, and child-care centers were founded in succession by American missionaries.
The church now is where the city's Christian Association locates and also opens for the public. It is an important focal point for the spread of Christianity in the northern areas of China.
